Student Animal Legal Defense Fund (SALDF) chapters are law student groups that are affiliated with the Animal Legal Defense Fund and share its mission to protect the lives and advance the interests of animals through the legal system.
Golden Gate University School of Law's SALDF chapter has been an active student organization on campus and participates in both local and national animal law events. Since its inception, the student-run organization holds lunchtime panels on various animal law subjects, trains members in preparation for the annual National Animal Law Competition, promotes and offers vegan lunches or snacks to students on Meatless Monday, provides "dog therapy" during final exams week and holds photo contests every term to advance awareness regarding animal law issues. GGU SALDF's largest project is organizing the California Animal Law Symposium, which members plan and develop throughout the school year.
